The Lineapiù Italia approach to sustainability tackles the main technical and ethical issues with attention to truth and a pragmatic operating philosophy. This is why you will not find general statements about the importance of the environment. We believe in quality in all the facets of our work: design, technique, performance, production, processes, etc.

We are fortunate to be located in Tuscany, just outside Florence: nature and beauty are part of the landscape we see every day. Our aim is to give those who come after us a world that is better than the one we inherited.

Raw Materials and Certifications

We select our raw materials from suppliers capable of meeting the highest quality standards. To make sure, we conduct thorough checks and inspections with a network of accredited laboratories that perform more than fifty tests and analyses each month. When it comes to fibers of animal origine, we also check for chemical substance content and make sure that our suppliers comply with our standards. When it comes to cellulose materials, Lineapiù Italia only buys Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified viscose from sustainably-managed forests. As to synthetic materials, we are increasing the quantity of items containing recycled fibers that are certified according to the Global Recycle Standard (GRS). This commitment to using recycled fibers allows us to retrieve fibers and materials that would otherwise be disposed of as waste; this also limits water consumption as well as the use of chemicals since these fibers have already been dyed.

Our supplier control and qualification process complies with the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) protocol that calls for series of strict checks and actions for yet a further supplier-rating system. Here, the aim is to guarantee the use of increasingly higher quality raw materials with lower chemical content. This protocol, that has been subscribed to and is supported by major fashion brands – such as Burberry, Kering, Inditex, LVMH and many others – will enable us to keep a tight rein on chemicals in our entire manufacturing process to one day be able to say that our production system does not discharge any chemicals that are potentially dangerous for the surroundings or for humans into the environment.
